Atlas receives inaugural book industry excellence award
Atlas is one of the first recipients of the Supply Chain Excellence Award, the new accreditation scheme launched by Book Industry Communication (BIC), the sector’s independent supply chain organisation.
The awards replace the existing e4books accreditation, also held by Atlas. Awards are given to publishers, distributors, booksellers and service providers that demonstrate their commitment to high levels of supply chain efficiency and innovation by automating processes and making full use of appropriate technology, lowering their costs and improving their service.
The BIC says that its Supply Chain Excellence award demonstrates that Atlas “supports industry standards and offers services consistent with the highest standards of book trade efficiency.”
Atlas Managing Director Allan Gray said he was delighted to receive the award. “The book industry has been important for Atlas over the years and I am pleased that our work assisting businesses working in the sector to make the most of ebusiness tools and techniques has been recognised in this way.”
