NFT picks Atlas as its strategic ebusiness partner

The leading provider of chilled logistics services to grocery retailers, food producers and drink manufacturers has picked Atlas as its strategic ebusiness partner.

NFT has been at the forefront of chilled, time-critical supply chain logistics since the company was established over 30 years ago.

The "intelligent link" between manufacturers and retailers, NFT moves products from the production line to retailer distribution centres and onwards to the store shelf for consumers to purchase and enjoy.

An extensive list of customers includes major European brands such as M&S, Sainsbury’s, Asda and Tesco, private label manufacturers, importers, regional food and drink manufacturers as well as leading UK and European grocery multiple retailers.

Amongst its supply chain partners are Uniq, Noon, Stateside Foods, Yoplait, Fabulous Bakin’ Boys and Nom Dairy.

Meeting numerous and complex customer requirements in a fast-moving supply chain requires specialist knowledge and expert systems across a variety of functions, including the all important supply chain management capability - ebusiness.

NFT required a partner that had an ebusiness solution with the depth and capacity to manage the complexity and high volumes of its business.

It also needed a partner that executes with speed and provides it with all the flexibility needed to handle the multi dimensional facets of today’s fast moving food and drink supply chain.

As a result, NFT chose Atlas and its ebusiness platform to support its business and further enhance its customer service.

Handling products with a shelf life ranging from one day to three months, and weekly volumes of around 150,000 pallets, NFT’s operations team, supported by its Atlas ebusiness infrastructure, manages the entire logistics process, delivering the right products to the right place at the right time.

And the solution is already producing results, as NFT’s IT Director Stephen Szikora says: “We selected Atlas because we need an ebusiness enabler that we trust to provide the full range of capabilities essential for us to deliver the high service standards that we set ourselves.

“The decision to appoint Atlas was justified almost immediately as, soon afterwards, we won a very important new customer. Without Atlas as part of our team, we simply would not have been able to provide the service that our customer needs.

“We now have much improved management of consignment information and the ability to provide customers and partners at both ends of the supply chain with a window into the fulfilment process.

“With Atlas we have in depth ebusiness expertise to draw upon – and there is a good fit between our respective corporate cultures too with both organisations being open and collaborative by instinct.”

Added Atlas VP Group Sales, Michael Latimer: “We are pleased to be working with NFT, a highly respected organisation in its marketplace, and look forward to making a difference with the range of solutions that comprise the Atlas ebusiness platform.”
